About Bill Hendricks / Shadowmason

Hi, my name is William Hendricks. I’m an artist, educator, occasional philosopher, and a member of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
I taught at Minneapolis College (MCTC) for 22 years and earned my M.F.A. from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
After retiring, I returned to the studio and slowly rebuilt my life around making things again. I began publishing ArtChangesLives(Dot)Com in 2002 while in graduate school, and that is where the name Shadowmason first appeared.
Over time it has become a place for studio work, walking reflections, photographs, digital experiments, and ongoing questions about creativity, identity, process, and being human. Mostly, this site is a record of the work continuing. I invite anyone who believes that art changes lives to share their work, experiences, and stories.
