An Important Lesson—Colors Change

Colours change: in the morning light, red shines out bright and clear and the blues merge into their surroundings, melting into the greens; but by the evening the reds loose their piquancy, embracing a quieter tone and shifting toward the blues in the rainbow. Yellow flowers remain bright, and white ones become luminous, shining like ghostly figures against a darkening green background.” ~ Rosemary Verey, The Scented Garden, 1981 (source)

My mother use to say, “It’s not what you do on Christmas, birthdays, Mother’s Day or Father’s Day that counts, it is what you do all year-long that really matters.”

Happy Holidays to all my visitors and friends,

In the Trainyard

How sane does the artist need to be? Shouldn’t they be a bit off to look at the world differently and courageously? I know for myself, not off enough to create a new path, but off enough to allow me to think creatively and not to accept the conventional. I guess the gift I do have is to be observant and be fascinated with what I see. To see the exceptional in the ordinary.

Challenge yourself to pay attention to the ordinary… And see the extraordinary.
