Art is a selective re-creation of reality according to an artist’s metaphysical value-judgments. An artist recreates those aspects of reality which represent his fundamental view of man’s nature.”

A Selective Re-Creation of Reality
A great quote for these images that I place here—tied to reality, then built with an algorithm that places each in time divided by space. A photograph at its essence is a vehicle to catch a memory, a mood, or moment. These images found in my blog use the photograph as the under-painting and then I apply technique that searches for the essence of feeling and mood that speaks through a visual vocabulary that is held there. It pushes the image to move beyond the seen to the unseen.
Today is a birthday of sorts for me and my blog. My one year birthday of capturing images and developing a process that ties place, heart, and soul together. A prayer of sorts, moments of solace, and reflection focused by Lake Harriet and her shores with images taken on my travels… As shadows passing over the landscape… These images attest to my finite existence.
